Israel-First Brigade Squeezing Bush

by William Hughes

In baseball parlance, a squeeze play is a high-risk strategy, that managers enjoy pulling off. With a runner on third base, the batter will sacrifice himself by bunting the ball down the first base line, preferably forcing the pitcher to field it and to choose between going home with the ball or to first base. Although, the batter is usually out at first, it allows the runner on third, who is off to home on the pitch, to score. The squeeze play, with that element of surprise, can show up in the political arena, too.

The Israel-First Brigade is foaming at the mouth in anticipation of this war with Iraq. However, they are also concerned that Bush Jr. might just go south on them and buy into the UN Resolution line. In order to put increased pressure on Bush Jr., they have let loose Daniel Pipes.

Pipes has demanded a probe of the alleged “cozy relationship” between occupants of the White House and Saudi Arabia, extending back and including the reign of Bush Sr. Pipes has labeled it “a culture of corruption” (New York Post, 12/03/02). The accusation that the Saudis deliberately sent thousands of dollars to a person connected to the 9/11 tragedy is just a clever ploy to set up the Bushes, if needed, for a congressional inquisition.

The Brigand is really warning that if there is no war with Iraq, the Congress will look into every aspect of the Bush family’s mostly lucrative connections to the Saudis. This could prove very embarrassing for the Bush clan. Windbag Pipes indicated that ex-presidents have accommodated the “Kingdom’s wishes and in return, [have been] plied with substantial sums of money, either at the time or after they leave government service.” Thanks goodness, he never mentioned the $2 million dollar fee the Japanese gave Ronald Reagan after he left office, for one of his boring spiels. The Gipper’s fans wouldn’t have liked that.

And, Pipes never brought up those enormous speaking fees that two of Israel’s favorite U.S. politicians have been stockpiling. I’m talking about the ex-mayor of New York City, the camera-hugging Rudy Giuliani, and ex-president, Bill Clinton. They both have become millionaires via the speaker fees and book publishing routes. Trust me when I say this: without the Israeli Lobby touting these guys, the public wouldn’t pay two cents to hear either one of them speak and/or to read their self-serving memoirs. Being selective about accusations of supposed wrongdoing is permissible for Pipes, but gentiles aren’t allowed the same privilege (See, Nat Hentoff’s “Israel at Stake on U.S. Campuses,” Washington Times, 11/25/02).

Meanwhile, another raving Sharonist, John Podhoretz, also got published in Rupert Murdock’s yellow sheet on 12/03/02. Pronouncing that Bush Jr. will not go wobbly, he prophesied, “Hawks need not fear. The biggest hawk of all is the Oval Office.” So there you have it! Bush will do the Brigade’s bidding, but if he doesn’t, their attack dogs on Capitol Hill are being prepped to do a “squeeze play” on the Bush Family Dynasty. Just to make sure the Bushes get the message, Pipes quoted blowhard Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY). He barked, “It seems every time the Saudis are involved, we stop doing a proper investigation.”

What about when the Zionists are involved, Charley? Many Americans believe, with just cause, too, that investigations are stopped cold when that happens. Just ask the USS Liberty survivors (http://www.ussliberty.org/), who are still battling, after 35 years, for a public hearing and justice.

Here are some other glaring examples: There was no follow up about those suspicious “Israeli art students,” who had saturated this country just prior to 9/11 terror attack. Fox News reporter, Carl Cameron said 60 Israelis, some of whom were active military officers, had participated in a “vast spy operation in the U.S.” Nothing, too, was done about those five Israelis caught dancing, filming each other, laughing for joy and “giving high five's” over in Liberty State Park, New Jersey, while the WTC was collapsing. And, the employer of those disgusting creeps was allowed to flee back to Israel (See, “Israeli Art Student Files,” Justin Raimondo’s expose’ at Antiwar.com). And, a few years ago, in the matter of the Zionist traitor Jonathan Pollard, none of his Israeli handlers were ever brought to to justice for their roles in a crime that devastated our military’s intelligence gathering operations (Allan C. Brownfeld, WRMEA, 09/98).

To make it easier for Bush Jr. to repudiate the UN Weapons Inspectors, an unprecedented smear job is being orchestrated by the Tel Aviv-loving boy-ohs. Podhoretz, leading the howling pack, ridiculed Hans Blix, the UN team leader, as a clueless “Inspector Clouseau.” He also railed that the inspectors are the “international diplomatic version of the Keystone Kops.” He said the hawks shouldn’t worry since “George W. Bush intends to rid the world of Saddam Hussein.” I liked Podhoretz a lot better when his bombasts were limited to doing silly movie reviews.

I’m afraid the Brigade’s “squeeze play” may work and Bush Jr. will fold. There is, however, one other remote possibility, and that is this: Bush Jr. might just decide to be a president for all of the American people! And, he and his proud father, too, might deeply resent being pushed around by the Israel-First intriguers and decide...to fight back!

Don’t hold your breath waiting for that one, but what a happy day that would be for the American republic.
