The Bulldozing Heard Round the World
by William Hughes
The Sharonists executed Rachel Corrie on March 16, 2003. The Israeli
Defense Forces (IDF) used a bulldozer, in occupied Gaza, in the Rafah
refugee camp, as its weapon of choice.
Thirty-six years ago, on June 8, 1967, when the IDF murdered 34 American
Navy personnel and wounded 171 others on the USS Liberty, they used jet
aircraft missiles, machine guns bullets, torpedo boats and napalm to do
their foul deed. As of this date, the IDF has gotten away with that
slaughter of our heroes ("Assault on the Liberty," James M. Ennes, Jr.) But,
the times are changing. Americans are, finally, stirring from their deep
sleep.
In the assault of Rachel Corrie, the mad dog, Israeli bulldozer driver
ran over her limp body not once, but twice! There were numerous eye
witnesses, some from the U.S. and some from the UK., to this cold- blooded
crime. And photos were also taken of this malicious act that snuffed out a
young human life.
Calling on all my druidical powers of prophecy, I predict that this is
one crime that the Sharonists, arrogant as they are, will live to regret.
Corrie, age 23, was as American as apple pie and the Fourth of July. She
represented the spirit of a new generation, a rising brigade of patriots,
who are now on the streets protesting the Iraqi war.
These gutsy champions for a restored Republic are the new sons and
daughters of Liberty. They take their cue, not from the mostly corrupted
members of the U.S. Congress, but from the valiant deeds of their revered
Revolutionary War ancestors. They don't a give a good hoot for any phony
U.S. relationship with Zionist Israel. They know that the hundreds of
billions of dollars that Tel Aviv has been extracting from our national
treasury, since 1948, is money that rightfully belongs to them. If they have
their way, Ariel Sharon will be in the dock at "The Hague," like Slobodan
Milosevic, to answer for his war crimes. And, more importantly, they want
the American Republic restored to all its former glory, as intended by our
magnificent Founding Fathers ("The Founders and the Classics: Greece, Rome
and the American Enlightenment," Carl J. Richard.)
These fledgling patriots reject the crude propaganda of the Sharonists,
that regularly demeans America, its Christian foundation, and our classical
roots. They have, or are, reading Kevin MacDonald's
"Culture of Critique"
expose. They know the Islamic World is not our natural enemy. And, that we
are being manipulated into a clash with it by the cunning wire pullers, like
neo-con Richard Perle, long associated with the Sharonists.
Born in North Carolina, Corrie called Olympia, Washington, in the heart
of the great American Northwest, her home. A senior at Evergreen State
College, she was an idealist in the finest traditions of our Republic. Her
murder by the Sharonists will not be forgotten or go unpunished. I hope,
too, that her dream of freedom for the Palestinians will be fulfilled.
Corrie was in Rafah as a fighter for social justice. She was part of an
international human rights campaign spotlighting the evil IDF practice of
demolishing the homes of innocent Palestinians. Home demolitions are part of
the terror campaign of the IDF. This constitutes collective punishment,
which is itself a war crime under the Geneva Convention. In the last two
years alone, the IDF thugs have bulldozed over 100 homes in the Rafah area.
The IDF certainly knew Corrie was in Rafah, working with the
International Solidarity Movement to protest the ongoing human rights abuses
against the Palestinians. At the time of her murder, she was wearing a
bright fluorescent jacket. The photos show clearly that she is visible to
the driver of the bulldozer. He saw her and he chose to run her over, to
execute her. He did so in the name of Sharonism.
Corrie's death is an example of the state sponsored murder that has
been occurring in Israeli occupied Palestine, since 1967. The victims have
been the Palestinian people. It is also an example of state sponsored
terrorism. The bulldozer driver's purpose was two fold: One, eliminate Corrie; and secondly, inflict fear in the minds of the Palestinians and any
other human rights activists, from America or the UK or from where ever, who
would dare to stand up to the might of the Israeli state.
History is a great teacher. It was at a bridge, in the village of
Concord, near Lexington, Massachusetts, on April 19, 1775, where
"the shot
heard round the world" was fired. Ralph Waldo Emerson immortalized it in his
poem, "Concord Hymn." American patriots,
"Minute Men," had taken a stand
against the British Army. A blow for freedom was struck that ended, in 1789,
with the birth of the American Republic.
History can also repeat itself. On March 16, 2003, another kind of sound
was heard. it was the sound of an Israeli bulldozer running over a brave
American, Rachel Corrie. This horrific sound, too, is being "heard round the
world." Its final effect could be just as cataclysmic as the sound heard at
fabled Concord, on April 19, 1775.
All it needs is a poet!
