Abu Dhabi (UNA-OIC) – Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the UAE’s unwavering position towards supporting Libya and achieving the aspirations of its people towards stability, development and unity.
This was stated when Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received, on Saturday at Al Shati Palace, Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed Younis Al-Manfi, who is currently visiting the UAE.
The discussions between the two sides dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, in addition to the developments of the political process in Libya and efforts to push it forward, as well as several issues of joint concern.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the UAE’s readiness to provide all forms of support and cooperation to overcome existing challenges, and to continue working with regional and international parties to enhance peace and stability in line with the aspirations of the Libyan people.
Al-Manfi thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE’s support of Libya and its people at international forums. He also extended gratitude and appreciation for the generosity and warm welcome and highlighted the strong ties between both countries.
The Presidential Council chairman further said that he looks forward to strengthening the development of relations between Libya and the UAE for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples.
