Kabul (UNA-OIC) – The Afghan National Army on Tuesday thwarted an attempted rocket attack on the capital Kabul.

The Afghan News Agency (Khaama Press) quoted the 111th Division of the Afghan Army as saying in a statement that the armed forces discovered and defused two BM-1 rockets during a patrol in the capital.

The Afghan armed forces were patrolling in Tarakhel village of Deh Sabz District when they found the two rockets, which the militants had prepared to fire at Kabul city, the statement said, adding that the Explosives Ordnance Disposal team of the Afghan Army defused both rockets and subsequently detonated them.
