Afghan FM affirms need for urgent medical supplies to fight COVID-19 in Afghanistan

Kabul (UNA-OIC) – Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar underscored the need for urgent medical supplies to help fight the coronavirus pandemic in Afghanistan.

This came in a videoconference meeting with the Afghan Ambassadors and Consul Generals to the neighboring and regional countries, and Directors General of the Political Divisions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Atmar instructed all Afghan diplomatic and consular missions and directors of the political divisions to contact all host countries, international organizations, and foreign missions in Kabul and coordinate prompt supplies of oxygen and other health services.

The Afghan government and people are grateful to the friendly nations for supporting Afghanistan in the fight against coronavirus so far, the foreign minister said, expecting the neighboring and regional countries to continue their support for Afghanistan in the fight against the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
