Arab League launches second edition of Arab Women's Day

Cairo (UNA-OIC) – The Arab Council for Social Responsibility (ACSR) of the League of Arab States is set to launch today the second edition of the Arab Women’s Day.

The celebration of Arab Women’s Day comes within the framework of supporting the role of pioneering women in Egypt and the Arab world and their successful experiences in empowerment, social responsibility and sustainable development, as well as in various other economic, social, political and diplomatic fields.

During this event, the focus will be on several axes related to Arab women, including feminist views and experiences of Arab women towards social responsibility; reviewing the most important Arab experiences in the framework of social responsibility and empowerment of women; and the most influential female figures in the areas of social responsibility.

Also during the event, the pioneering and distinguished women in community participation in the Arab world will be honored and awarded the Arab Women Award. The move falls within the ACSR’s support and encouragement for such honorable models to back the role of Arab women in various domains such as economic empowerment and social responsibility.

The awards will be given as per the criteria that serve the development process, which include Oscar Award for Social Responsibility; Best Women’s Empowerment Program Award; Entrepreneurial and Social Responsibility Leadership; and Media and Youth Leadership.
