Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, at the Presidential Palace in Baku on April 8.
Al-Othaimeen congratulated President Aliyev on the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands, in implementation of relevant United Nations and OIC resolutions.
The Azeri president the Secretary-General with the Dostluq Order (Order of Friendship), in recognition of his distinguished service and contribution to strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and the OIC.
Meanwhile, Secretary-General Al-Othaimeen held a meeting with Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of members of the OIC Contact Group on Azerbaijan. The meeting was followed by a joint press conference between the OIC chief and Azerbaijan’s foreign minister.
