When Israel Lies — An American or Muslim Dies

“It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world."

— George Washington

Never in the history of mankind has a small nation, a "Jewish only" nation, a nation forcibly implanted and created by the powers of the time at the expense of an expelled indigent population, a nation strategically situated between the oil hungry Christian "democratic colonialists" and the oil rich colonized Muslim world; a nation separated from the sole world superpower by 5683 miles and two bodies of water–the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean–”yet holds a far reaching leash and powerful elastic collar surrounding the very life, breath, and careers of the most powerful capital in the world—–Washington D.C.

Much like the capital’s beltway, I-495, Israel’s collar serves the dual purpose of relaxing or squeezing its grip around the political fortunes of the “elected” men and women who upon entering Israel’s occupied territory forgo the national interests for a profitable future as long as they tow Israel’s interests. Freshmen politicians are immediately warned—it’s not nice to oppose Israel. Thus our “elected” officials are willing to sacrifice American taxes and youth to fight and die for Israel in Iraq, to be followed in Iran, Syria, Sudan, and Lebanon. Israel’s leash to ensure American involvement follows the usual path—-Israel decides, Israel’s Lobbies (AIPAC, ADL, AJC, ZOA, WJC etc.) pull the strings in Congress and the White House, the Media relentlessly beats the drum for Israel causing mass fear and hysteria, campaign money flows, spies activated in highly sensitive national security positions, and suddenly the President appears in the Oval Office telling the nation that “in the best interest of our national security ‘we’ must invade, bomb “fill in the blank” with an Arab Muslim nation to protect our citizens and our “ALLIES.”

The collar also serves as an Apartheid wall and filter allowing only Pro-Israel propaganda, sound bytes, media exposure, and "think ‘for Israel only’ tank’s" policy papers, in and out of the beltway. Israel’s brilliance far outshines any American “intelligence” in ‘our’ capitol. Christian and Jewish Zionists in Washington D.C. play a game of Musical Chairs in and out of Government positions, think tanks, lobbies, media pundits, analysts, and international organizations—with only one goal: What is good for Israel must be good for America. The Amazing Israel—the little nation that could.

Zionists have succeeded in silencing any American opposition to Israel’s control of our foreign policy. They have cleansed the government, and especially the State Department, of “Arabists”, those with expertise on the Arab and Muslim world, they have ensured only Pro-Israelites pepper our media and entertainment industry, squashed any academic freedom on campuses dealing with Islam or the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, successfully banned entry into this country of any academician or journalist opposed to Israel’s brutal occupation, and ensured that all Pro-Israel Jewish Lobbies are not registered as foreign agents for Israel thereby allowing them to operate outside federal laws.

I encourage everyone to investigate these truths and test the media with an honest criticism of Israel or suggest an academic review of the Holocaust; an inquiry into Israel’s breaking of America’s laws such as the foreign arms export act, or Congressional hearings on AIPAC’s spying and campaign donations. You may also ask the media why only Jewish Americans appear as “experts” on terrorism, Islam, or foreign policy. Is America devoid of any expertise in other ethnic groups? Ask them to invite Noam Chomsky or Norman Finkelstein onto Meet the Press, Face the Nation or This Week for their viewpoint on the war on Iraq.

Shockingly, America’s foreign policy is truly FOREIGN, made in Israel not in America.

“If God is just, I tremble for my country.”

— Thomas Jefferson

Besides the tragic, painful, and expensive war in Iraq for both Americans and Iraqi’s, a Neocon war heavily documented as a war for Israel, a more personal tragedy for three American families showcases that even the death or hijacking of their daughters in the Middle East is under Israel’s influence in terms of their political and media portrayal, memory, legacy, and most painfully, their characterization as pro-terrorism supporters.

This January 23, we remember the fourth anniversary of the brutal murder of Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street journalist, killed in Pakistan. Dozens of journalists have lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq covering America’s wars and illegal invasion. On this solemn anniversary for his family we remember three other American young women, two whom have died, one currently abducted.

Rachel Corrie, Marla Ruzicka, and Jill Carroll are three beautiful, extraordinary, unique, idealistic, and courageous American women in the prime of their youth and vitality who risked their lives to make a difference by serving and telling of the suffering of Muslims under occupation. The entire world, but especially Muslims, must honor these women who sought to serve the oppressed and forgotten victims of war and occupation at a time when our world is seized with fear, anxiety, and a sense of hopelessness. The world has lost two of them, may they rest in peace, while one God willing will be released by the terrorists who kidnapped her. Hijacking Jill or any innocent civilian by Muslims hijacks Islam itself.

"America and Israel are brothers and sisters…The things that bind us are our deep commitments to human dignity."

— Candidate Governor George W. Bush’s Speech to AIPAC, May 22, 2000

Rachel Corrie, 24, (April 10, 1979 – March 26, 2003) KILLED IN ISRAEL:

Run over twice by an “American Caterpillar” Bulldozer driven by the Israeli Defense Forces while protecting a Palestinian home from demolition. Israel’s military and Bulldozers are paid for by American taxpayers.

Speaking on the silence of Israel, our government officials, and media toward the loss of her cousin, Ms. Elizabeth Corrie wrote:

“Why the double standard? Perhaps this reveals the most disturbing truth of all”

Marla Ruzicka, 28, (Dec. 31, 1976 –” April 16, 2005): KILLED IN IRAQ by a car bomb

She was born with a passion to help somebody, and she never wavered."

— Clifford Ruzicka

Jill Carroll, 28, KIDNAPPED IN IRAQ, January 7, 2006

“As you know by now, my daughter is honest, sincere, and of good heart. Her respect for the Iraqi people has been shown through her words as a reporter”

— Jim Carroll addressing the Terrorists in a Press Release

How beautifully poetic and ironic that Jill Carroll wrote a column on the death of Marla Ruzicka titled “Mourning Marla” in the Christian Science Monitor, April 18, 2005.

“Marla Ruzicka was the head of an NGO whose blend of tenacity and optimism kept her in Iraq long after almost every other humanitarian aid organization had left. At a time when the International Committee of the Red Cross and United Nations were leaving Iraq, Marla started the Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict. Through that, she helped Iraqi families navigate the process of claiming compensation from the US military for injuries and deaths…. Later in the fall of 2003 when I moved here and was despairing of my sputtering freelance work she would always say, "Jill, good for you. You’re working so hard. I’m so proud of you." She was the eternal supportive cheerleader. One night she slipped a note in my hotel mailbox. It was a small essay of encouragement and praise from out of the blue, scribbled in black ink on a scrap of notebook paper”.

On the murder of the innocent, President Bush has not been silent. He did voice his concern on such senseless killing and looked forward to meeting the family of the victim. He said: "I’m looking forward to meeting these very brave souls. …. and hopefully, their loved one will not have died in vain," (March 16, 2005)

After meeting with President Bush the victimized family also met with high profile lawmakers including Senators Hilary Rodham Clinton and Edward Kennedy.

Sadly, the family that met Bush and the Senators was not the American family of Rachel Corrie, the young woman killed by an Israeli bulldozer, but an Irish family, five Catholic sisters and partner of the IRA murdered Robert McCartney. They were invited to the White House on St. Patrick’s Day to deliver to Bush a dossier on their murdered brother. They demanded justice for their brother. Bush complied by denying Gerry Adams of Sinn Fein an invitation to the White House, the first in a decade for the IRA “terrorist”.

The family stated that they wanted to dispel America of any “romantic vision” of the struggle in Northern Ireland. "We’re going to bring that reality home to Americans who have political and financial influence in Ireland."

The sisters accused Sinn Fein of covering up their role in withholding witness evidence and destroying forensic evidence. The McCartney’s cited Sinn Fein’s initial opposition to the police investigation.

The media gave this family enormous coverage and sympathy.

The brazen murder of a human being, the “cover up”; “opposition to an investigation”, and the requisite silence by a government and media is exactly the plight of American and Muslim victims when Israel is doing the killing. No other nation can ever get away with murdering Americans—except our dependent ally: ISRAEL.

Compare the silence of our media when Israel does the killing to when Israelis or Americans are the victims of Muslims. The horrific ceaseless media and political chatter overwhelms our brain capacity to absorb the tsunami of condemnations.

A large photo of an Israeli girl killed in a Palestinian terrorist bombing of a bus is emblazoned on the front page of the New York Times, yet, Rachel Corrie’s death by Israel was not worthy of such space, much less of a murdered Palestinian child. WHY?

Rachel’s cousin, Elizabeth Corrie wrote an article on the one year anniversary of Rachel’s death entitled, “A Year of Silence Since Rachel Corrie Died”, that appeared in the International Herald Tribune, March 4, 2004. In it she wrote.

“The self-acquittal of the Israeli army for Rachel’s death and the resistance of the state of Israel to an independent investigation into this case reveals both the Sharon administration’s unwillingness to take responsibility for the death of a U.S. citizen and the Bush administration’s cowardice in allowing another nation to attack U.S. citizens with impunity …citizens of the United States should ask themselves how it is that an unarmed U.S. citizen can be killed with impunity by a soldier from an allied nation receiving massive U.S. aid.”

To fully appreciate our government’s duplicity and pandering to Israel, when three Americans died in Palestinian occupied territory, allegedly by Palestinians, on October 15, 2003, the FBI was immediately dispatched to investigate the murder. No such governmental attention or care was provided to Rachel Corrie’s murder–”why?–”Israel did the killing. It’s immaterial who Israel kills, if Israel is the killer, the U.S. Government’s modus operandi is to forget, forgive, absolve, and accept Israel’s claim of a “tragic accident.”

In one of her passionate, caring emails to her parents, Rachel tried to comfort her parents as to the danger of her work, protecting Palestinian civilians against the military onslaught and house demolitions by Israel. She tragically believed that Israel would never harm her because Israel would never dare harm an American. How tragically wrong she was. The priority of our government is Israel first, and America’s Rachel Corrie’s second.

“what with the difficulties the Israeli army would face if they shot an unarmed US citizen.” (Thank God Rachel doesn’t know that her powerful country would ignore her death and let her down, for Israel’s comfort)

From Rachel’s Last Email to Her Parents: “Let me know if you have any ideas about what I should do with the rest of my life. I love you very much” please visit her memorial website cited below)

Yet not even in death was Rachel, an American angel, spared from the venom of Pro-Israel Zionists. Such hardened hearts, dark minds, full of hate, respect no one who dares speak against the “Chosen” people of God, not even when speaking of truth or justice.

On David Horowitz’s website one reads an inexplicable, outrageous, immoral diatribe against Rachel, the murdered angel, and her parents written by Steven Plaut, titled: “The Continuing Idiocy of Rachel Corrie’s Parents”, January 10, 2006 [1]

“The Corrie parents were in the Gaza Strip as part of their global campaign to get the world to commemorate their daughter’s death by destroying Israel. .You will recall that Rachel Corrie inadvertently committed suicide by challenging an Israeli military bulldozer to a game of chicken as part of her attempt to prevent it from destroying houses… Corrie had been dispatched to Gaza and to her suicide death by the pro-terror International Solidarity Movement (ISM). Corrie has since become the martyr saint for the pro-terror lobby.”

Furthermore, a Jewish student at the University of Maryland, Daniel J. Freedman, drew a most repulsive cartoon of Rachel for the University paper, The Diamondback, on March 18, 2003. It depicted a sitting Rachel Corrie blocking an Israeli bulldozer with a mock definition of “STUPIDITY” as “Sitting in front of a Bulldozer to protect a gang of terrorists” as a caption. [2]

Thousands of students protested but the editor in chief of the paper, Jay Parsons, defended the cartoon as free speech. When it comes to criticizing Israel, Free Speech vanishes from our First Amendment and a tsunamic outcry reverberates around the world ensuring the everlasting placement of the world’s “Scarlet Letter: A for Anti-Semitism” on the poor soul who dared to speak.

The barbaric inhumanity of Israel even extended to disrupting a memorial service for Rachel Corrie in Rafah, the occupied Palestinian village where she was murdered.

Here’s how Chris McGreal of the Guardian reported the incident on March 19, 2003:

“Activist’s memorial service disrupted”:

“Israeli forces fired teargas and stun grenades yesterday in an attempt to break up a memorial service for Rachel Corrie, the American peace activist killed by an army bulldozer in Gaza on Sunday. Witnesses including several dozen foreigners and Palestinian supporters say Israeli armoured vehicles tried to disperse the gathering at the spot in Rafah refugee camp where Ms Corrie was crushed to death.”

Expecting their Congressmen to support them and demand an investigation on Rachel’s death, her parents met with three Congressmen from their home state of Washington. After the requisite lip service of outrage and introduction of legislation to investigate Rachel’s death, nothing was done; nothing would’ve been done, after all this is ISRAEL.

"I have learned that the state of Israel cannot be ruled in our generation without deceit and adventurism."

— Moshe Sharett, Israel’s first Foreign Minister and later a Prime Minister

This is neither the first or last time that Israel killed Americans with impunity and our government provides the cover up, the excuse, the fear of an investigation, while our “American” media is silent in search of a Wal-Mart or animal human interest story.

On June 8, 1967, an American intelligence ship, the U.S.S. Liberty, was monitoring Israel’s preemptive attack on Egypt and Jordan in international waters clearly hoisting the American flag. Without warning or provocation the ship came under relentless Israeli air and sea attack killing 34 US seamen and wounding 171 out of a crew of 297, the worst loss of American life since W.W. II. Within an hour, Israel told Washington its forces had committed a ‘tragic error’, claiming it mistook the ship for an ancient Egyptian transport ship which was not even in the area. Although the crew reported the attack they were forbidden to speak about it to anyone. President Lyndon Johnson for political expediency “covered up” this murder and assault on US servicemen. Since then Israel has believed it can get away with murder and not consider any American outrage or call for investigation. To this day this attack is the only naval disaster never investigated by Congress. As always, our government accepted Israel’s explanation. [3]

In contrast to Rachel’s murder and the deliberate killing of U.S. seamen where no Congressman or Senator attended their funerals nor did the media take up their cause as Americans worthy of an investigation, the death of Marla Ruzicka, killed in Iraq, a Muslim nation, brought Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), a strong supporter of Israel, to attend Marla’s funeral in Lakeport, California and the media took up her moving story. In fact she delivered a moving speech on the Senate floor on Marla’s passing. Rachel’s parents did contact their two democratic senators, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, regarding Rachel’s murder by an Israeli soldier, again the requisite outrage and promise of investigation, but none were forthcoming, after all this is ISRAEL, not IRAQ.

Two American women are murdered, one by Israel, the other in Iraq, yet their humanity, dignity in death, and remembrance took different paths–”one thankfully honored, the other neglected. Their only difference is who killed them.

But even in death, Marla Ruzicka, another American angel, was not spared the hate and venom of right wing Zionists.

In an article on David Horowitz’s FrontPageMag titled “Meet the Real Marla Ruzicka” Debbie Schlussel writes (April 25, 2005): (4)

“When the N.Y.T., "Nightline," and CNN nominate a young blonde for sainthood ahead of the Pope, it’s time for a reality check… Ruzicka’s sole purpose is to legitimize our enemies, cause problems for U.S. troops already in harm’s way.. It’s time to stop worshipping at the alter of this false heroine….(who) got the wall-to-wall fawning coverage that Ruzicka got-unless they were anally raped….While it’s a sad day when any American gets killed by Islamic terrorists, it’s measurably less sad when that American aided and abetted them-and belittled our troops.

For Marla Ruzicka, some might call it, poetic justice.”

It’s impossible to fathom and digest how a powerful nation like ours so easily succumbs to a “cabal” of a few men and women in this country who use and misuse our power to serve Israel’s interests, from trillions of dollars of aid over decades, to governmental and corporate espionage, to fighting her wars, and most incredibly, most painfully, and most outrageously, to impose upon our society a silence and neglect over the murder of our very citizens by an ally that uses our dollars, bullets, missiles, aircraft, and bulldozers that we, Americans, pay for with our taxes, taxes taken from our children, elderly, and poor.

God help Israel and its supporters in due time when Americans, as they’ve always done, awaken to the atrocities committed to them and in their name by our “special friend”. Most Jews are not Zionists, and not all Zionists are Jews. In fact the most honorable activists against Zionism are American Jews. We must make that distinction. Yet, for Israel’s Zionists, it will happen sooner or later. Once again in history, the Israelites will ask themselves, “Why do they hate us?”

We as Americans must help ourselves and help Israel see the light of injustice and brutality inflicted upon the hapless Palestinians enslaved and subjugated by Israel’s American flag.

I wholeheartedly pray that Jill Carroll, a lady of compassion and passion for truth, a woman who’s honored the Iraqi’s and Islam by her respect, behavior, and dress, will be released immediately. She is as innocent as Marla, Rachel, and the many courageous westerners who risk their very lives to stop the killing and destruction in Muslim lands. They toil away from the spotlight and only seek the reward given to the precious few for their humanity and love of others.

Jill must be released unharmed because she is an innocent person, a caring person, a young person with much life of service and happiness ahead of her, because it’s the right thing to do, but most of all it’s the ISLAMIC thing to do.

“The Case Against Rachel Corrie”; by Bruce S. Ticker, May 30, 2004
