Côte d'Ivoire suspends financial ties with Mali over military coup

Abidjan (UNA-OIC) – Côte d’Ivoire on Wednesday announced the suspension of all economic and financial relations with Mali following Tuesday’s military coup that ousted Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta.
In a statement, Côte d’Ivoire’s Finance Ministry said the measure, which is in line with a decision by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to halt financial flows over a military mutiny against Mali’s president, applies to all Ivorian banks and financial institutions.
