Egypt, Tunisia affirms importance of holding Libyan elections on time

Cairo (UNA-OIC) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Tunisian counterpart Kais Saied agreed on the need to end the Libyan crisis in a way that paves the way for the return of security and stability, especially by holding presidential and parliamentary elections, as scheduled for December 24.

This came during a phone call between the two presidents, according to a statement posted on Facebook by Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

Both presidents stressed the need to intensify coordination regarding the Libyan crisis, in addition to the importance of withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, in accordance with relevant international resolutions, the statement added.
