European Parliament hails inter-Libyan dialogue in Morocco

Brussels (UNA-OIC) – The European Parliament commended the Libyan dialogue sessions being held in Morocco between representatives of the High Council of State and the House of Representatives, as a step towards achieving stability.

The parliament also welcomed the efforts of Morocco in the inter-Libyan dialogue and expressed the hope for positive results leading to a ceasefire and a solution to the Libyan crisis.

“I warmly welcome the willingness to engage in dialogue between the Libyan High Council of State and the House of Representatives, as well as the Moroccan initiative to bring their representatives together in Bouznika,” Chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Maghreb Countries (DMAG) Andrea Cozzolino said in a statement on Wednesday.

This initiative has “a positive impact on the UN’s efforts to facilitate political dialogue among Libyans,” he added.
