JEDDAH (UNA-OIC) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the European Union (EU) held a joint Webinar on Freedom of Religion and Belief, Inter-Cultural and Inter-faith Dialogue on 24 February 2022.
The OIC was represented in this webinar by the Cultural Affairs Department, the Dialogue and Outreach Department, the Islamophobia Observatory, and the Sawt al Hikma from the OIC General Secretariat. The OIC Permanent Observer to the European Union, Ambassador Ismat Jahan addressed the opening session on behalf of the OIC.
The two parties exchanged views on multiple topics such as frameworks to promote tolerance and interfaith dialogue, protection of religious minorities, and strengthening inter-cultural dialogue. The two organizations also shared good practices and experiences on issues of mutual interest, including the opportunities to collaborate further through concrete joint actions.
