Riyadh (UNA-OIC) – The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) held in Riyadh on Wednesday a presentation under the theme “Comparative Strategies for Combating Terrorism”, delivered by Dr. Farhat Al-Harshani, Adviser to the IMCTC Secretary-General.

Al-Harshani gave a definition of the concepts and dimensions of the international strategies for combating terrorism and violent extremism while comparing them with parallel concepts such as organized crime, poverty, and others.

The lecturer also drew a comparison between the international and Islamic strategies for combating terrorism and highlighted the points of similarity and complementarity between them. He associated this with IMCTC’s strategy for combating terrorism across four domains (Ideology, Communications, Counter-terrorist Financing, and Military).

It is noteworthy that this presentation comes as part of a series of symposia, presentations, and workshops held by IMCTC for representatives of member states and staff of the coalition.
