Iran FM leaves Islamabad for Tehran

Pakistan’s Minister for Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam and Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mohammad Ali Hosseini, seen off Amirabdollahian at Islamabad International Airport.

Amirabdollahian arrived in Islamabad on Saturday night to attend the 17th Extraordinary Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Afghanistan.

On the sidelines of the summit, Foreign Minister met separately with the Prime Minister and Commander of the Pakistani Army to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

He also met with the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sierra Leone, Jordan and the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ended this evening with the adoption of a resolution, envisaging establishment of a Humanitarian Trust Fund to serve as a vehicle to channel humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan including in partnership with other international actors.
