Jordanian, Kuwaiti FMs discuss cooperation, regional developments

Kuwait, (UNA-OIC) – Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, held talks on Thursday in the Kuwaiti capital, to continue talks held in Amman recently on mechanisms to enhance bilateral cooperation and deepen coordination concerning regional issues, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The discussions aim to achieve “broader” horizons that reflect the strength of the “historic, and strategic” relations between the two brotherly countries, according to a press statement issued by the ministry.

During the meeting, Safadi and Sheikh Ahmed affirmed willingness to launch “practical” steps to increase cooperation in the economic, commercial, investment, and health fields, especially in light of the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, the two ministers reviewed the region’s developments and ways to overcome regional challenges in a way that leads to resolving crises, achieving security and stability, and serving Arab issues and interests.
