KSrelief launches medical campaign to combat blindness in Sudan

Khartoum (UNA-OIC) – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a week-long medical campaign to combat blindness and its causes in Sudan.

The campaign, which was launched in the presence of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sudan Ali bin Hassan Jafar and a number of Sudanese officials, lasted from 22 to 27 May.

KSrelief’s volunteer medical team began examinations at Makkah Hospital in Khartoum, where it conducted 600 examinations and performed 62 surgeries to remove cataracts, in addition to distributing 62 medical glasses and 248 eye drops.

The team also examined 1,560 patients at Omdurman Hospital and performed 198 surgeries to remove cataracts, in addition to distributing 198 glasses and 796 eye drops.

The initiative comes within the framework of the humanitarian projects, provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, for the Sudanese people in various fields.
