Kuala Lumpur (UNA-OIC) – Kuwait International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) on Thursday distributed sacrificial meat to thousands of Muslim refugees in Malaysia, within IICO project slogan “Your sacrifices are joy for them” in cooperation with Malaysian Medical Relief Society (MERCY).
MERCY Secretary-General Prof. Hosni Ahmed told KUNA that this project was fully funded by IICO, praising their charitable efforts, Kuwait’s leadership and its people as well as IICO staff and workers.
He added that the project helped 1,666 people, raising the total number of beneficiary individuals from Yemen, Palestine, and Syria as well as Somali communities and Rohingya refugees in Malaysia, to 6,664.
“Your sacrifices are joy for them” project is one of many projects of the IICO in 28 countries around the world based on the 2020-2024 strategic plan, which focuses on building and empowering people.
