L20 Workers Communication Group summit discusses importance of empowering women, youth

Riyadh (UNA-OIC) – The Summit of the L20 Workers Communication Group in the G20 concluded its activities on Tuesday, with the participation of prominent international speakers.

The participants discussed the G20 program for the empowerment of women and youth, labor standards and trade union rights in the Arab world, as well as the importance of social protection and labor market policies with a more flexible return to work.

The second day of the summit saw the participation of prominent international speakers including Director-General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Guy Ryder; Secretary-General of the Trade Union Advisory Committee (TUAC) to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Pierre Hubbard; Director of Employment, Labor and Social Affairs at the OECD Stefano Scarpetta; and Secretary-General of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) Sharan Boru.
