Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia briefed on UNA Action Plan

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Malaysian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abd Razak bin Abdul Wahab met today, Thursday, with Acting Director-General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) Mohammad Abd Rabbo Al-Yami.

During the meeting, which was held virtually, the two sides discussed the activation of joint media and training work. The meeting also witnessed an explanation of the Union’s vision for the coming years, which revolves around its role as a major media platform for member states, and the advancement of the media industry, based on Islamic and media values ​​that urge transparency, credibility and tolerance.

The role of UNA in providing strategic media consultancy to member states through representatives of official national news agencies was also reviewed, in addition to holding a series of training sessions for media professionals in the coming period.

For his part, the Malaysian ambassador commended the transformation that the Union is going through, and its efforts in communicating with member states and linking them to become an incubator for information exchange inside and outside member states. He stressed Malaysia’s support for these efforts, and its keenness to make them succeed.
