Afghan forces free over 60 civilians, military personnel from Taliban jail

Kabul (UNA-OIC) – Afghanistan’s Commando Forces launched a military operation, during which they managed to release 62 civilians and military personnel from Taliban jail in northern Baghlan province last night.

The military operation, launched in the Nawrozak region, Baghlan-Markazi district of the province, resulted in the release of 26 civilians and 36 troops, the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement.

Four terrorists, who were prison’s guards, were killed and some ammunition and explosive materials were destroyed during the military operation, the statement added.

Recently, the Afghan commando forces launched military operations, during which hundreds of civilians and security personnel were released from Taliban prisons in different provinces.
