Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has approved fresh financial assistance for projects in OIC Member States.
The approval comes as part of the ongoing support offered by the OIC through its subsidiary organ, the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF), to the educational, health and social sectors in the member states. This round of assistance went to The Gambia, Sudan, Jordan, Union of Comoros, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire.
The Secretary General stressed that this assistance comes as expression of the OIC’s solidarity with those countries. In this regard, he commended the continued humanitarian aid the ISF has been extending to member states and Muslim communities affected by humanitarian disasters and crises.
