OIC chief calls on donor states, Islamic financing institutions to participate in Sudan Partners Conference

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen received an official invitation from Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdulla Hamdok, to participate in the Sudan Partners Conference to be hosted by Germany in partnership with the European Union and the United Nations on June 25.

The Secretary General praised the holding of the Berlin pledging conference as an important initiative to support Sudan’s economy and achieve sustainable development in the country.

He called on the donor member states and Islamic financing institutions to provide all forms of support and assistance to Sudan in order to enable it to overcome the current economic conditions, in line with the resolutions issued by the Islamic Summit and the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, which emphasize solidarity with and support for the transitional government in Sudan.
