OIC chief congratulates new President of Guyana Mohamed Irfaan Ali

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has congratulated Mohamed Irfaan Ali on his election as the new President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

In a telephone call on Tuesday, Al-Othaimeen told the newly-elected president that the OIC and all its institutions stand devotedly committed to enhance relations with Guyana in various fields and support its development efforts.

For his part, President Irfaan Ali thanked the Secretary General for his words of congratulation and the attention he and the OIC give to Guyana and its role. He also stated that he looks forward to the OIC, its agencies, and member states for assistance in delivering development projects.

Also during the telephone conversation, the two sides explored ways to enlarge prospects for bilateral relations and dialogue on issues of mutual interest.
