OIC COVID-19 recovery rates exceed 75% (UNA report)

Jeddah, (UNA-OIC) – Recovery rates from the Coronavirus in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has exceeded 75% on Saturday. 
As of Sunday morning, the recovery rate is sitting at 75.81%, with 1,777,742 recoveries out of 2,344,847 confirmed cases. 
The OIC Member States’ mortality rate is 2.4% compared to a worldwide rate of 4%, while global recovery rates are sitting at 61.18%.
According to statistics from WorldMeters, Djibouti is the best OIC member state regarding recovery rates. 98.21% of the country’s just over five thousand confirmed cases have already been cured and discharged.
Iran has recorded the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in OIC member states, with 288,839 confirmed cases, and 251,319 recoveries. 
Regarding active cases, Bangladesh has the most currently active cases, with 96,214 active cases out of 221,178 confirmed cases. 
In the same context, Brunei is the only state to have 0 active cases out of the 57 Member States. It registered a total of 141 confirmed cases, 138 of them recovered. 
Member State Uganda has registered the least amount of deaths from COVID-19, with only one casualty out of its 1,103 confirmed cases. 
It is noteworthy that the Union of OIC News Agencies has recently held a forum to discuss “efforts of the Organization and all its organs in serving Islamic causes and confronting the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
