Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to build thousands of new settlement units in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
In a statement released Sunday, the General Secretariat considered the Israeli decision as a violation of international law and United Nations resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334 (2016), which calls on Israel to immediately cease all settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
The OIC General Secretariat reaffirmed that all Israeli settlements built on the territory of the Occupied State of Palestine are illegal under international law and relevant UN resolutions.
