OIC renews call to rescind steps taken to alter internationally recognized Jammu & Kashmir status

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – On the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the unilateral steps taken in Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to alter the internationally recognized disputed status of the territory as stipulated in the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reiterated its call to revoke all these steps.

The General Secretariat referred to the decisions and resolutions of the Islamic Summit and OIC Council of Foreign Ministers and renewed its solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their quest for the right of self-determination. It also urged refraining from changing the demographic composition of the disputed territory of Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and respecting the basic human rights of its inhabitants.

The OIC General Secretariat further reiterated its call on the international community to increase its efforts to resolve the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
