OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen
Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen addressed a written letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, confirming OIC’s supportive stand to the Palestinian cause.
The OIC chief voiced concern over Israel’s violations against East Jerusalem (al-Quds) population. He called on the UN to mount pressure on Israel – the occupying power – to cease its violations against the Jerusalemites and allow them to stand for, campaign for and cast their votes in Palestinian elections, in line with international resolutions and signed agreements.
