Ousmane Diakité appointed as head of Imams Council in Côte d'Ivoire

Abidjan (UNA-OIC) – Imam Ousmane Diakité was appointed as the new President of the Superior Council of Imams of Mosques and Islamic Affairs (COSIM) in Côte d’Ivoire, to replace Cheikh Aïma Traoré Mamadou, who passed away on April 13.

The Conference of Imams is scheduled to convene on Tuesday to approve the appointment of Imam Ousmane Diakité, who was chosen by a seven-member transitional college from the Superior Council of Imams.

Imam Ousmane Diakité was born in 1956 in Côte d’Ivoire. He received a Master’s Degree in Public Law in 1983 at the Mohammed V University in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
