IMCTC, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Institute for Moderation sign cooperation agreement

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) signed on Tuesday a memorandum of cooperation with King Abdulaziz University (KAU), represented by the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Institute for Moderation (Etidal).

IMCTC was represented by its Acting Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, while King Abdulaziz University was represented by KAU President Prof. Abdulrahman Obaid Al-Youbi, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Award.

Al-Moghedi indicated that the agreement aims to build fruitful joint cooperation between the two sides to contribute to the efforts of developing societies intellectually, consolidating the approach of moderation and deepening national affiliation. This comes within the framework of the IMCTC’s strategy that aims to build partnerships and benefit from the expertise and specialized research centers in the member states of the coalition, thus enhancing its objectives.

The IMCTC chief stated that this agreement lays the basis for organizing cooperation in the field of presenting studies on combating violent extremism and promoting a culture of moderation and tolerance.

It is worth noting that the agreement provides for cooperation in several areas, including awareness media campaigns, studies and research, as well as educational, training, rehabilitation and technical programs. It also includes cooperation in organizing forums and conferences.
