Tunis (UNA-OIC) – Tunisian President Kais Saied reaffirmed his country’s firm position regarding the Palestinian cause and expressed his strong belief in a future recovery of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
“Such rights, which are no merchandise or stock exchange shares, cannot be the object of a deal determined by interests and desires,” President Saied, adding that the Palestinian rights will not be lost as long as there are free people around the world.
The president made the remarks as he met at the Carthage Palace on Wednesday, with Palestinian Ambassador to Tunisia Hayel Fahoum.
He also reiterated Tunisia’s continuous support to the Palestinians in order to end the injustices they are facing and restore their stolen rights, warning that defeatism is more dangerous than the defeat itself.
President Saied further stressed that Palestine can represent a message of peace when it regains its rights and establishes its own State in accordance with international law.
He expressed his hope that all Palestinians would overcome their differences and divisions, in a way that would help serve their cause, the “mother cause” which shall remain a central issue for all free people across the world.
