According to the Johns Hopkins University, the overall number of global coronavirus cases was nearing the 33 million mark, while the deaths have increased to more than 996,000.

Unfortunately, this figure is also growing in Uzbekistan.

WHO warns that the pandemic may continue for another two years, and if there is no global unification, then we may face many difficulties in overcoming it.

The Red Crescent Society of Uzbekistan, its branches in the cities and districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan are carrying out certain work among employees and volunteers to further increase general knowledge on COVID-19 to promote a healthy lifestyle among the population. The Karakalpak branch of the Red Crescent Society of Uzbekistan, taking into account the socio-economic conditions that have arisen among the population due to the coronavirus, provides social service and material assistance to lonely elderly people, the disabled and those in need.

The branch, together with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Red Crescent Society of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the joint project “COVID-19 Response”, provided the Republican Infectious Diseases Hospital with 40 sets (beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets, sheets). Financial assistance was provided to lonely, low-income patients, outreach work was carried out. Medical masks and antiseptic agents were distributed to the population during the campaigns.
