Tashkent (UNA-OIC) – Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister Furkat Sidikov held virtual negotiations on Saturday with Vice President of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Khalid Al-Khudairi on ways to activate bilateral economic cooperation, the Press Service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
According to the Uzbekistan News Agency, the negotiations focused on the current situation of cooperation in the relations between Uzbekistan and the SFD, as well as the prospects for their development.
It is noteworthy that Uzbekistan benefits from the SFD’s resources in equipping medical and educational institutions in rural areas, in addition to restoration of roads and improvement of drinking-water network. So far, four $88 million projects have been completed, and another six $186 million projects are under implementation.
For his part, Al-Khudairi affirmed the Saudi side’s desire to expand bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan and within the framework of the Arab Coordination Group, as well as to increase the volume of funding for socioeconomic projects in the Central Asian country.
