Secretary-General of World Muslim Communities Council visits UNA

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary-General of the World Muslim Communities Council (WMCC) Dr. Muhammad Al-Bashari visited today the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), where he was received by Acting UNA Director-General Mohammed Abd Rabbo Al-Yami.

During the visit, Dr. Al-Bashari listened to a detailed explanation of the Union’s activities and its media vision in the service of member states.

Al-Yami discussed with Al-Bashari, in the presence of WMCC Assistant Secretary-General Hassan Mohammed Al-Marzouqi, the cooperation between the two sides in serving Muslim communities beyond the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the rehabilitation of their media cadres.

The two sides affirmed their aspiration to work together in areas of common interest, thus serving their goals in promoting the values ​​of moderation and tolerance, combating hate and extremism discourses, and disseminating media content that serves these goals.

At the end of the meeting, the WMCC Secretary-General presented a Commemorative Shield to the UNA Director-General.
