SPA President Elected as President of Federation of Arab News Agencies

RIYADH (UNA-OIC) – The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) President Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran was elected as President of Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) during the 48th Conference of the General Assembly of FANA that SPA is currently hosting in Riyadh.

Al Aqran expressed his pride in the confidence of presidents and directors of FANA member agencies, considering it a motivation to move forwards with the efforts of all to develop the federation’s role in serving the Arab media action and enhancing its international presence.

He stressed that SPA’s winning of FANA’s presidency reflects, at the first place, the appreciated role of SPA and a reflection of what the Saudi media is witnessing of support and follow up by Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi in a bid to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s status in the regional and international arenas.

SPA President noted that the federation’s responsibility doubles amidst the accelerating media developments and changes towards preserving its gains and joining efforts to overcome these challenges under the founding goals of the federation.

Al Aqran also paid tribute to the efforts of Director General and Editor-in-Chief of the Omani News Agency Ibrahim bin Zahran Al-Azri during his presidency of the federation over the last period.
