Sudan renews call for reaching abiding and legal agreement on Ethiopian dam

Khartoum (UNA-OIC) – Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok renewed his country’s position calling for reaching a legal and abiding agreement between Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and its filling, according to international law.

Addressing the Sudanese people on Eid al-Adha occasion, Hamdok outlined that GERD file tops the priorities of the Sudan’s Transitional Government despite the Ethiopian government’s announcement that the second filling of the dam was completed.

The prime minister stressed that Sudan remains adhere to reaching abiding and legal agreement on GERD. He added that Khartoum will continue calling for refraining from unilateral actions, reiterating the need to reach a legal and binding agreement in line with international law.

“we will spare no effort in achieving this goal that preserves our national interests,” he affirmed.
