Tajikistan's incumbent President Rahmon wins presidential polls

Dushanbe (UNA-OIC) – Tajikistan’s incumbent President Emomali Rahmon won a fifth term in office following presidential elections held on Sunday.

Chairman of the Central Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan on Elections and Referenda Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda announced that the incumbent president of the country won Sunday’s presidential polls with 90.92 percent of the vote. He added that the turnout was over 85.39 percent.

It is noteworthy that five candidates completed in the elections including Miroj Abdullayev, Rustam Latifzada, Rustam Rahmatzadeh, Abduhalim Ghafforov, and incumbent President Rahmon.
