Tunis International Book Fair postponed again until next spring

Tunis (UNA-OIC) – The organizing committee of the Tunis International Book Fair (known by its French acronym as FILT), on Wednesday, announced the postponement of its 36th edition until next spring, with the exact date to be communicated later.

This postponement has been decided in the light of the delicate health situation, because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation that may worsen in the coming weeks, said the organizers.

As part of the preventive measures taken nationwide, consultations took place on October 5 between the Scientific Committee for monitoring the spread of the coronavirus and the directors of festivals and cultural events, reads the same source.

This is the second postponement of this major annual literary event, which is organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The 2020 edition of the FILT, chaired by Mabrouk Manai, was originally scheduled to take place from April 8 to 19.

The first wave of the pandemic had forced the organizers to postpone the FILT, which is usually held at El Kram Exhibitions Park in April, until a new date that was scheduled from November 13 to 22.
