Two Arab grants amounting to $11 million to go to Palestinian health sector

Ramallah (UNA-OIC) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health received Thursday part of two grants amounting to $11 million from two Arab funds intended for its hospitals.

The ministry said in a statement that the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and Al Aqsa Fund of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) donated the grant at ceremonies held in Ramallah.

Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila said each of the Kuwait Fund and Al Aqsa Fund has contributed $5.5 million to help the ministry deal with the coronavirus pandemic and to provide high-quality medical services. She added that the grants will go to importing, installing and operating medical equipment in hospitals run by the health ministry in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
