UAE, Sierra Leone discuss strengthening security and police cooperation

Freetown (UNA-OIC) – Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio has stressed the depth of relations between his country the United Arab Emirates, expressing his aspiration to push them forward, based on the prestigious stature the UAE enjoys in various fields.

This came during his meeting with Inspector General of the UAE Ministry of Interior Maj. Gen. Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, where President Bio conveyed his greetings to the UAE leadership and people, as well as his wishes for the UAE’s further growth and prosperity. He also affirmed his attendance at the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Both parties also discussed ways to enhance relations between the two countries in the security and police sectors.

During his visit to Freetown, Al Raisi also met with Vice President of Sierra Leone Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, and Minister of Internal Affairs David Panda Noah, along with Inspector General of Sierra Leone Police Ambrose M. Sovula.

They discussed issues of common concern, most notably the security challenges, ways to enhance coordination, and exchange of experiences in the areas of combating crime, and training.
