Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) participated in the “Maqasid Al-Sharia in Islamic Finance” workshop, launched on Monday by the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI), the global umbrella of Islamic financial institutions.
The Union’s representatives participated in sessions of discussion with Muslim economists and scholars of Islamic jurisprudence to grasp the goals of Islamic Sharia and its impact on financial transactions.
The participation in the workshop, conducted in French, comes within the framework of fruitful cooperation between UNA and CIBAFI, which was documented by the joint memorandum of cooperation aimed at coordinating work in areas of common interest, especially Islamic banking.
CIBAFI is an international non-profit organization established in 2001 and headquartered in the Kingdom of Bahrain. CIBAFI, which is affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has over 130 members from 34 jurisdictions, representing market players, international intergovernmental organizations and professional firms, and industry associations.
