Tunis (UNA-OIC) – Tunisian President Kais Saied, on Monday, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi in Carthage.

Agence Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) quoted a presidency statement as saying that the meeting focused on the preparations for the intra-Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) to be held next week in the capital Tunis.

President Saied said the LPDF will be, for Libyan actors, an appropriate opportunity for a political settlement of the conflict, calling on the international community to support this process. He also stressed that Tunisia is working tirelessly to contribute to the resolution of conflicts in neighboring countries.

Minister Jerandi informed the Head of State about the development of Tunisia’s relations with other countries and means to strengthen them, particularly neighboring countries, as well as the forthcoming deadlines.

The LPDF meetings, to be held under the aegis of the United Nations, will kick off on November 9.
