OIC denounces new Houthi terrorist attack on Abha airport

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen expressed the OIC’s condemnation, in the strongest terms, of the new attack by the Houthi terrorist militia on civilians at Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport with a booby-trapped drone, which was intercepted by the Saudi air defenses.

The Secretary-General reiterated that attacks on civilian airports and endangering the lives of innocent travelers are a cowardly terrorist act, a war crime, and a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

Al-Othaimeen stressed the OIC’s support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to respond to the practices of the terrorist Houthi militia, in order to preserve the Kingdom’s security and stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The OIC chief also reiterated his call on the international community to take firm positions to halt the Houthi militia’s continued cowardly threats with ballistic missiles and booby-trapped drones in a systematic and deliberate manner to target civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia.
